What's the best/easiest way to remove the pcv valve?

Thanks!

I used channel locks on the valve and pried up using the valve cover for leverage. I had to tear the existing grommet out in pieces, some fell into the head/valve cover so I had to use a flashlight and make sure I got all the pieces out w/ needlenose.

I also used a pair of channel locks. And lost some of the old brittle grommet into the valve cover. I simply took a long/thin screwdriver and wrapped duct tape (sticky side out) around the end and retrieved the pieces that way.

Good Luck!

The new grommet and valve go in much easier!

That's the way the grommet crumbles I guess.

I was afraid of that. I just did the seafoam thing. Worked pretty good. Lot's of white smoke. Idle seamed a littel smoother afterward. Thanks again!

Mine actually came out with a large screwdriver by prying VERY gently and using my other hand to pull the PCV out. Mine was brittle but not to the point of breaking apart.

I tried that and chipped a piece of the grommet off. Mine's pretty brittle. Hopefully, I can get it off in one piece.

Someone suggested holding a vacuum cleaner hose next to the PCV valve opening when removing a brittle grommet, any pieces will probably get sucked up instead of falling down. Open your 710 cap for better air flow.
