I went to public school and I took all three tests in one sitting.

Anyhow, I think it depends on the haste of the examiners. I was in the FCC DB in four days, which means they must have mailed it the next day, mail was super fast, and the FCC processed it immediately.

What resources did you use? I'm getting the "HAM for Dummies" book... I'm living in Egypt until July, so hard copies are officially out, since my Christmas presents are en route... What web resources? Thanks guys...

go to Eham.net and do their exams many times over. I ran thru like 6 Sat. morning and saw about 1/2 of the questions from the exam.

hamtestonline.com was recommended to me by someone here; it was useful to me. They have a free trial selection from each question bank so you can get a good idea of how it works and whether or not it works for your learning style.

I took the test last Saturday and got my call sign yesterday (Wed). It was surprisingly quick
