The parts in question are for a 1969 fj40
Anyone know where I find a shorty temp sensor like the one in the pic? I ordered one from SOR but it was much too long.

Also, anyone know what this long skinny thing is that goes into the intake manifold, and where I would find one?

Makes sense, and sounds about right. I screws into the top of the intake manifold. What is the little doohicky called? Where can I find one?

The rusty one is just called a "union". Looks like 90404-51001 from my parts catalog. @ToyotaMatt repros them, maybe this one.

The sending unit firstly screws into a union (tube with threads on one side) and thereafter the combination screws into the cylinder head, hence why your sender is too long. Earlier engines (F135/145/155) used a tall union and long sender. Later 2F uses the shorter one like you have shown.

@locklaw thanks for the clarification. Do you know what to call those parts on the catalog page (that I can reference and order), which place to find them, I've looked all through SOR and CruiserTEQ, CCOT ?
