I am a bit confused and have read all I can find about this, but here goes. I bought a 74 FJ40 with a blown motor. The deal included a 2F and a 4spd transmission. My mechanic, great guy just doesn't communicate well, tells me I need a new shifter for the transfer case because it is not working (figured out he means it is too short). The main problem is that I am deployed and can't just run over and take a look at what he means. Reading the posts I see entries about swapping the nose cones and doing several different things. My question is: Exactly what parts do I need to source to finish the swap. The old drivetrain was intact, just not in the FJ. The 4spd includes everything IN the case and the shifter, no bolt ons.
