A 1983 BJ 60 that is going to Nanaimo early next week for parting out. The 3B engine with 252,000km will be for sale along with the manual transmission. Both are in great shape to my knowledge. $3000 with the engine removed, crated, tarped and compression tested. Axles off of that vehicle are also for sale along with any other parts you might want..really the only major thing of note would be the rad, leafs, ujoints, shocks, exhaust which is near new, trailer hitch, 31 inch mudstars ($400). Delivery is possible but pick up is preferred as I am a teacher in a small native community on the west coast of Vancouver Island and my time to deliver to the border or elsewhere is tight.

A 1986 HJ 60 is also on the west coast of Vancouver Island... 2 H Engine has 443,000km on it. I don't know much about the condition of this engine but it was driven out to where I'm at on the west coast about 6 months ago and was fine. The front end of this vehicle is in ok shape if someone wants to take the whole thing. the electrical is 24V. Alternatively there is a mechanic in Nanaimo who is more than willing for a small fee to remove said engine for you. This would up the cost 500 bucks. The price on the engine and auto tranny if you come and get it is $1500. If you want the rest of it and will haul it, it's yours. I'm thinking if you want to separate them that the block would go for 750 and the tranny 750 but I'm open to offers, as I wouldn't mind keeping the tranny for myself as i have an hj60 auto now.

I will be available to field questions til this Saturday night, then I'm going backcountry hiking for 5 days til thursday, so please don't be upset if you don't get a response after Saturday. Feel free to post any questions or quieries you might have.

She's definitely in driving condition. I'm driving it out tomorrow to the mechanics to begin the tear down....all wiring is present and working though if someone wants the whole thing. The frame has a matter of months left though and is cracked. I'm driving it 250 kms tomorrow without hesitation.

Can you let me know if you think that it's worth it to not take the engine out separately? I don't know a tonne about parting out these things, and so if you think that someone might potentially be interested in the whole thing I'll hold off and just have the mechanic take off my suspension, wheels, tires, and other stuff I want...

Thanks,

Kevin

unfortunately I don't know much about them myself. I am looking to buy a rust bucket bj60 to do an engine swap into my fj 40. Most likely someone would be looking to do something along the same lines. But is sounds like you doing some of that yourself.

This could be your rust bucket. I'm taking my tires, exhaust, brakes, suspension off, but the rest remains. it's all yours if you want it. I would say for the complete front end $3500.

Ok so unless I hear that someone's interested in the whole thing minus suspension and wheels, it's going to start getting chopped....if someone is interested though the HJ 60 leaf springs, shocks could be put on so you could drive away.......9 am tomorrow though folks............

Also have the following if anyone's interested:

2 working rear seatbelt mechanisms

2 land cruiser grill badges

1 working near new Radiator

1 alternator pulled out

1 front grill

rear pinion assembly

Update to the 6 cylinder parts vehicle

This vehicle has been towed to Youbou, BC--2.5 hours from Vic. It is now on sale for a blistering $500.00 to the first buyer to come tow it away. What's left is the engine and automatic tranny, 4 doors, windows. I plan on taking the locks and locking mechanisms out, but may or may not get to it before you do. The reason the price has been dropped is because it does not even have axles left and is too hard for me to work on....Come get er. 500 OBO by end of October.

Just some info

am i asking too much or should I wait longer?

Honestly, and of course this is just an opinion, I think you are asking too much. If this was attached to an h55f and included shipping you might be in the ball park. I just sold a 3B for less than $1500, but still took almost 3 months. The market is just kind of tight right now. Long story short, keep waiting or drop your price.

I would love to come get the HJ60 from you and your price isn't unreasonable, it's just a matter of geography. Probably what is keeping a lot of people from buying.

Do you have the gauge cluster? If yes, can you ship to 90245.

Doug
