Hey everyone,

New member here - just picked up a '99 Land Cruiser, been a long time dream to own one of these and finally made it happen. Previously owned a 4Runner and still own a '04 Tundra, so definitely love my Toyota trucks. You guys have an awesome board here and I am happy to join.

Currently researching my lift and had a question about which Fox shocks to use with a 2.5" OME lift. I drive the kids around so need to maintain good ride quality, and having read a bunch of threads on the subject it sounds like the Fox shocks are a but more comfortable than the ones that come with the OME kit.

After some researching it looks like the only Fox shocks for the 99 LC are 0-1" like this one here:

Fox 2.0 Performance Series IFP Shock 99-07 Toyota Land Cruiser 0-1'' Rear

I've called a few places and none of them really knew what to recommend or which shock I need.

I saw that a bunch of members on here run this setup. Do you happen to have the part numbers for the specific front and back Fox shocks that I need for this lift height?

Thanks in advance

I'm basically in the same boat here. Looking at a ~2.5" lift and I would rather err on the side of too soft for ultra heavy loads than too harsh when unladen. I'm going to have all the weight (F/R bumpers, sliders, and fully belly protection) but I rarely tow and this is a DD so comfort is key. 95% highway miles but I do want to have clearance and control on trails and the once in a while technical.

Right now I am looking at Slee packages but the OME shocks don't sound all that great for around town and highway and are not exactly cheap either. I am considering paying up for Icon stage 1 or the Slee shocks but I would love an intermediate option if available.

Any Fox suggestions out there?

Ironman foam cell pros. wngrog I believe is running them and has done some reviews.

Doesn't look like anyone in the US has these in stock - all the shops showing up with them are in AU.

Concerned about ride quality on flat roads. Haven't read a ton of reviews on them, not a lot of people running them it seems. I did check out his post, but his truck was loaded when he tested and he mainly reviewed the offroad performance. Thanks for the reply.

Any other recommendations? Are there Bilsteins that could potentially be used?

We installed FOX-98524066 & FOX-98524067 on my brother's LX....looking back at the invoice, it shows 0-1.5" lift on the description.....but we installed them along with 860s, OME t-bars, Slee Diff drop, and SPC arms.....and set the front end to max droop. Also, he has nothing in the rear, so I'd say he's got more like 2-2.5" lift. The ride is nice and cushy. Perfect, since he'll never load it up heavy anyway.

When we did all that work, we removed Bilsteins, which had probably only been on there for a few thousand miles and one of the rear shafts snapped(a common problem with them).

Having had the OME shocks on my 100 before I went to Icons, I'd say the Fox option is a good happy medium as far as price and being softer than OME. They're actually probably softer than my Icon stage 2s.

You got me to get off my ass and post my review for these shocks.

Here's the thread.

Same part numbers as HFDPNL said above.

For you, I would spend more on shocks. With those bumpers on top the other weight you might be ok alone, unloaded, but I think the truck will feel loose once you put people or stuff in it. Just my opinion.

Phat-
