you should sell them...id buy one.

Great idea FT.

Been waiting since the start of Summer for these. Good to hear they are almost ready.

What would it take to get these to fit in a 60 series also?

They are meant to be used with the stock 80 3rd row brackets. So that would mean you would have to find the curve in the wheel well where it matches and drill out some holes (nutserts, weld, nut/bolt?) but if you get these for the 60 they you can't open WagonGear's bitchin cargo doors :flipoff2:

[STRIKE]His latest model is not using the third row bracket.[/STRIKE]

My mistake.

it does use the 3rd row bracket, but does not require you to alter it in any way.

What's the point if we can't order it yet...

just giving info and getting feedback...
it takes a while to do it right and do it so it can be replicated many times. All that takes a bit of work. I think things will move faster now that we have some good momentum and things worked out.

my motto is that a long development is much better than poor quality.

i'll post in the sale thread when we are ready w/ product

From what i have been reading, a lot of folks are digging (perhaps me included) the original design versus the newer CAD mock-up. Any thought to sticking with the first design ?

It's been almost a year and this still isn't in production. That doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is that noone else has started making a version after seeing these.

Well if FirstToy decides to go away from the initial design... that may just happen. :hmm:

:flipoff2:

what reputable person would steal my idea and market this? if you want to make your own, go for it.

I always thought the community supports sharing and championing good ideas, not stealing them for profit. Maybe i'm off on this but hearing that, I'm glad this is my hobby and not my living.

I'm still going to do my best and so is Hanna, to make something worth having- innovative and quality on par w/ the truck.

Come on James, we're just playing. Now get back to work.

Not me. That being said, there are many reputable business people that would use your idea in a heartbeat if they thought it would make them money. Unless you took steps to protect your design with a patent you have no recourse if they showed up for sale on someone's website tomorrow.

By your comment I'm guessing that you are probably a genuinely nice guy but naive about business. You have a great idea but posted it on the web for the world to see for a year. It has been 11 months and you still don't have a design finalized or what seems like a reliable date for production.

Any one of the hundreds of people that have read this thread could take your picture to a machine shop and have a run of 10 or 100 of these made in a month. This is a very simple product.

It seems like I'm busting your balls but I'm actually trying to be helpful. If you intend to make any money on this I would work on the assumption that the clock is ticking. You could very easily see a major Cruiser supplier selling Chinese versions of these in a year for a fraction of what you can get one made for.

Exactly.
The 80 series offroad NA market is nothing compared to the FJCruiser or the 120 series. Most of the action now is towards the FJC - Look at Slee, ManaFre, MetalTech, 4x4Labs...its not about Land Cruisers anymore.

Would a reputable busine$$ person bother stocking a merchandise that might not move quickly in volume? Something from Cost Accounting?

Just saying. :D

Add to that - IH8MUD is not what it used to be...

I'm not getting your point. The OP seemed offended when I mentioned that others might use his idea since he put it online a year ago and let it sit. I would like to see him do well with these hence the advice.
