Jimmy,

BAT has been setting reserves way low IMO of late (past 6 months). They agreed to set my last build (AKUMA) at 145K, but then I sold it for more privately. At first they only wanted to set it at 85K, but once I said I wanted the white glove plan they agreed to raise it. I sent pics and then had them compared it to one that sold for 150K+ in the past year.

Yes, they kept the 2K for me cancelling the auction. But was part of the deal up front.

They will negotiate a little but will base the reserve off past/recent auctions. Kinda like house comps. So be prepared for them to set a low $$.

I have heard this from several folks J. I’m in the early stages so have not even got to this part yet. Will see how it goes. I would prefer to sell it outright. Have not come up with a price yet so still have some work to do.

That would be awesome Jim. I’ve been socializing it on IG to get some exposure. I don’t use social media as a tool very well. May get better in the future. I know this truck better than anything and will be able to help any would be buyer know exactly what they are getting. I’ve worked on several higher $ 60’s where someone with $ had no idea what they were buying and came up short in several areas.
So appreciate your offer and any help is appreciated.

This one is done right and you’re super knowledgable. It’s going to make somebody very happy no matter what the price is. And hopefully the price is good, you deserve it for all the labor!

Does the right fender (or door) look like a different paint shade or is it the angle of the pic? Those BAT fools are picky and the comment section can be brutal.

There are enough other pictures that show it is the same color. My eyes don’t see it being a different shade other than how light works. 🤷🏽

Good eye Dave. It’s definitely the angle and when you zoom in on the computer you can see the darker area is actually a reflection of the live oak canopy to the west. This color gives the illusion of different shades from different angles depending on the lighting. I notice this at times. For example the b-pillar looks different than the window edge of the door. I shot the truck with the same paint so I can only guess it’s the profile of the panel in conjunction with the lighting/reflection. Hope this helps.

Getting closer to hitting BAT. Getting the photo gallery organized with them and the “write up” will be the next review process. Added in some OEM belts and a new OEM fuel filler tube courtesy of Matt @cruisermatt
Also installed the two skid plates with the help of Emerson while he was in town for the weekend

I’ve never seen an auction open and instantly go to 20k!!!

It’s going to be a wild ride this week watching this baby.

Best of luck Jimmy, you deserve it!

Best of luck Jimmy!!! Really gunning for you on this!

Truck seems to be doing ok on BAT. Stinks that they loaded two very nice 62’s on there. Now there’s 4 very nice 60 series on BAT at one time. I’ve never surfed that site much so not sure if that’s common or not. No disrespect for 62’s, but at least mine is the only 60. I love all 60 series but FJ60’s are my favorite. So last two things I’m doing on the punch list. Just replaced the fan relay (resistor switch) as well as breaker switch with brand new Toyota parts. And I’m going to put brand new u-joints on the rear driveshaft this weekend. Part #’s included in the pics.

I’ve had these parts in the shop and trying to think of things/wear parts that could potentially cause grief for the new owner if she sells. After all it is a 40 year old truck :).

It’s truck selling time of year. Your truck is the best one on there in its category by far. Plus they are all pretty different.

You’ll do great bud.
