just had my 3FE's radiator "cleaned", stripped, boiled whatever. anyhow, i went to pick it up at lunch across town and they were getting ready to paint it...in my hurry, I said skip it, got to go. ....so, i guess i need to paint this thing with radiator paint myself right? it is completely naked.
BTW, i had a leak at the water pump gasket on the driver's side. got it all apart and ready to install new pump etc. can i trust the Toyo. gasket alone with any RTV gasket stuff? the Toyo gasket has little black bead of gasket on it already but reading some other posts about continued leak in my same area has me concerned. thanks all.

Don't know about the paint. I would certainly use some silicone sealer on the gasket. And, some anti-seize on the bolts.

Yes, your radiator needs to be painted black.

thanks

i'm obviously one of those people that are not afraid to ask stupid questions.....not all of us are at the upper mechanic level. thanks, again...

Paint the Rad Flat black. Disperses radiant heat better than gloss.

Use RTV (I used gray permatex) on the water pump gasket. Gray stuff is supposed to be for high-vibration applications... But any Gasket maker/sealant will work. I used it on the gasket at the block and on the backing plate, between the pump, and plate.
