FJ not CJ and I happened to be crawling under my 60/25 this evening and both of us could not figure out how far down the body color goes, does it stop at the frame? springs? axles? Need a good clean cruiser to figure this one out. Thanks, John Pardi

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the same colored paint supposed to go down to everything . . . . including the frame, springs, axles and even the wheels?

wheels and frame yes, but I believe the springs, axles and stuff are black. Atleast thats how I was planning on painting mine. The firewall is also black, painted over body color, but the inner fenders and stuff were body color.

I agree with Mike. The frame is body color but the springs, axle and steering components were black. I not going north this weekend but will be going next. I'll check to make sure, this one still has the original paint. The front bumper is painted the pewter color not body color. The bumperettes. pintle hook, trailer light socket are painted body color. If there is anything else you want me to check let me know. The steering and bumper are removed and in town, used the steering to got a early 40 home from a junk yard. The funny thing about this one is the wheels look like there are red. Don't know if they were repainted or if this is surface rust. I'm going to have to research this sometime.

Best I can tell on mine it was body color down to the frame, springs and drivetrain were black. Mine isn't rusty, original colors under a pretty heavy layer of grease and black paint. Our paint sample came from the bottom of the truck.

Also the firewall and inside the cowl was satin black down to the first seam at the floorboard.

While scearching for some pictures hidden inside my computer I came across this one. It shows how the cowl is painted black inside the engine bay.

I thought the lower insides of the front fenders were painted satin black? Does not appear so in this photo. John P#3

There is a pretty good size flange on the top of the fender that folds over the lower part of the fender. That is painted body color. Below that is painted black. I just check my white 25 which is still original color under the hood. I'll double check the grey one next time I'm there.

The 25 pictured in the second post shows shocks painted body color. I have original shocks and they were painted black.
