paint code

if i wanted a particular color off any producton vehicle,is the paint code enough for me to get the same exact color to match?how bout how many coats of clear coat is needed to keep a paint job last another 20 years?just curious.

My local auto paint store had no problem mixing three different oem colors for me by giving them the toyota codes. As far as the clearcoat goes I couldnt say....I used a single stage product without a clear coat.
