For his new to him Dodge Powerwagon with soon to be pop-up truck camper. Should be a very nice rig.
On a second note, I was thinking about changing the destination of the trip.
I was thinking about heading up behind the fire station across from Boomtown/Cabela's and basically getting up towards Hunter Lake the back way.
Depends on if anyone else wants to go and what they think.
Jack
I won't be ready anyway but that road gets fairly narrow and fairly steep with some nice drop offs. IOW a bad place to get stuck in the snow![]()
We haven't seen a "Stuck on Hunter Lake road need help" thread on reno4x4 yet this year have we?
Those threads are so entertaining.
Looks like it's just going to be the two of us. Guess we'll have to keep all the fine wine and strippers to ourselves.....

Thanks, I'll look for it I need a laugh.Actually there was one about a week or so ago. And yes it was entertaining.
Jack
I guess I could take the wifes stock 4runner, leave all my recovery gear at home, go out in a t-shirt, light pants and gym shoes with no socks. O'h, forgot, I have to do this at night, with only another stock rig to go with me and it has to be shod with street tires. One more thing, I have to bring at least a case of the cheapest beer you can buy, and no food.
Then we need an Iphone to email for help all night.
On second thought, why don't I just borrow a 2wd truck with a one legger rear diff and bald ass tires..
Pictures or it didn't happen.Holy Cow, that stuff was nasty. Nice little crust about 8-10" thick, with slushy powder underneath.
I had fun, the wife and kid had fun, we broke a winch cable end and burned up the solenoids so I guess I either had a crappy set of solenoids or we were pulling pretty hard.
Jack go to watch me shovel snow and dig to china...... At least he broke out his shovel to help, after all, he was the one who said......I'll pull over a little why don't you give it a try.........
Who would've thunk the snow was that deep on my side of the road..
