Padre Island (PINS) Texas, December 24th - 29th (1 Viewer)

Hey HDC!
We, @mesa man and my family, are planning an adventure down to Padre Island (PINS) December 24th - 29th (or longer, weather permitting) for some rural camping and beach driving. We have two rigs going at this point, my 1999 100 and our friend's Tacoma. Looking to see if anyone is up for the adventure as it is safer and more fun in a group. We are watching the weather and can adjust dates as needed but my birthday is 12/28 and I would LOVE to be there for my bday camp set and all fun to be had. Our two teenage boyz, Dylan & Caleb, 14yo & 15yo will be joining us. We are also planning on adventuring around as we head home, no return date just need to be back to work on the 7th. Not sure what or where yet... just going to warmer weather!
I have done a lot of research and trust we can do this alone but thought I would open this up to NM Mudders.
If you would love to have a spontaneous adventure, come!
We are looking to see if any locals know the fishing scene down there.
We are also looking for any locals who know the area and are willing to show us around as we have never been down there.
We will be visiting Jimmy, @CenTXFJ60, on the 23rd then heading down from there.
Let us know if you are interested in joining, even for just a day, or have any information that you'd like to share.

You should have nice mild weather during your Gulf beach trip. Enjoy!! Pictures would be nice.

We had a blast!!
We stayed on PINS for 1 week about 30miles down the beach and enjoyed our time there. There is a lot of litter wash up on that island cause of currents but everything else was wonderful. Here is some of our adventure… oh and we saw a 78series traveling through on their way South.
We had been watching vehicles drive by lots of pickup trucks and jeeps then Mesa Man says where are the land cruiser (!!!) and on cue the 78series raced past us! We took a drive that day and went and found them and made new friend!

Was the Troopy guy Swiss? Kinda looks like a Swiss flag on the door

Yes, they are Swiss, a really nice couple traveling the Americas, heading to Mexico next. I’m jealous of their adventure to even warmer lands!

I’m so glad we did this trip, the locals down there think it was too cold and I was in shorts and a tank top for most of the day and the boyz were stuck to the waters that don’t go below 60 something.
I would love to adventure with a group down there… just not in their warmer or hot months! The humidity was very high at night and lots of fog, in the summer 100+ degrees and 100% humidity, no thank you! Lol

I wish I could share the short video… or if your on IG look up masaman_and_mesawoman you can see a short clip of them driving. It was satisfying, lol.
