CEL light went on on the way to Grocery store today. I'm assuming it's the coil/igniter. 185k never relaced. (0/8) Think I should order more than 1? Truck seems a little slugish I guess, but roads are snowy and icy so It's hard to tell. I separated the conection and cleaned and put back together so its not just the harness.Or at least that didn't prevent it from throwing a code. P0300 and P1315. I cleared the p0300 but the p1315 trips immediatly. Everything looks good externally.

Except the puddle of 90w at my ARB compressor? think my breather is clogged?

Truck is currently thawing in garage.:meh:

From a Toyota Spyder forum, just as an FYI:

Dumb and Dummer?

Okay to begin when the first cel came on I took it to Autozone and got P1315 4 code.
Well the dummys cleared it ,then after 5 hours I switched the coils from 4 to 2.
While at lunch today the cell came on again. Once again I stop at Autozone and got the same code on 4.
I was worried it was a short? Well went to Master J house and he hooked up a real scanner to the car.
He cleared the code then we went for a drive the scanner attacthed to the car while I was driving.
And the screen read misfire cylinder 2. So what happen is that I should of waited for the cell to come back
on. Then switched the coils and then cleared it. To get the correct reading!
All said and done it is the ignition coil on number 2. The same one I switched! Bad coil.....
The good of all this is that he did not charge me for my stupid luck!

I was thinking about doing just that. Swapping to another cylinder to verify coil. I've borrowed my friends scanner.
FSM says to unplug fuel injectors, pull coil and spark plug and check for a spark.

I'll investigate further tomorrow once the snow melts off.

UPS left a present on my doorstep. 26 hours after I ordered it from Stevinson Toyota, DEN. installed it. Checked the plug, looked fine. No more CEL. engine sounds good again.
