Hi all, on my way to work this morning I realized that my P indicator light is staying illuminated on my dash while I'm driving both in reverse and forward gear. Truck drives fine and I have no issues selecting a gear.

Any ideas what's causing it and how to fix it? Thanks!

I just had the same issue a couple weeks ago. Right after a very heavy rainstorm. Also caused the door locks to go bezerk. Hooked up the code reader and cleared it. No more problems as of yet.

I had this and there are two transmission computers. Had to replace one and of course it was the more expensive one. Replaced the cheaper one and it didn't fix it. So then replaced the other.

Definitely could be rain related. We've had a ton and now my CEL and VSC trac/ VSC OFF lights are on...

So update on this...I cleared the codes last time and it went way. We've only had snow recently but the last couple of days we have had rain. And now the lights are all back on. P and D indicators as well as the CEL and VSC, TRAC lights.

I've been reading around and I'm thinking it may be water related obviously because this only happens when it rains for a couple of days.

Is there any way to fix this issue? I've found that it could be a bad windshield seal but to my knowledge it has never been replaced. OEM glass and no record for it. I have all records since truck was new...

Any ideas/comments? I'd really like to get this fixed!

Thanks

Bad windshield or seal around it, check for water on the fuse blocks at the base of the A pillars.

I found this on my 05 by running it through an automatic car wash and immediately crawling around under the dash with a flashlight. I could see beads of water on the pass side fuse block.
