Hi all.
Looks like I need to replace the oil pan/sump gasket on my 1999 5VZFE powered Prado. Removed the front bash plate to have a look.....

Anyone done this or know how? There is a heck of a lot of frame/diff between me and that oil pan.

Your thoughts.

Cheers.

did you observe any leakage?
do you mean the 12101B GASKET(FOR OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG)?
ToyoDIY.com
needs to pay a little attention not to brake the head of the bolt if you force it a lot..you can use an extension bar with a socket or an air gun ...
good luck;)

If the Prado is IFS like other IFS 4x4's that I have seen you will have to drop the entire differential assembly to get the oil pan off IIRC. If it is a solid axle it seems like you could unload the suspension enough to get the pan off. Would be a good time to install a locker. Please forgive the off topic question but would you tell me what transmission and transfer case is behind your 5VZ-FE as I am not familiar with the Prado?
