This a message I just sent John (Living in the Past) and thought I'd post it up for the heck of it:

"Yeah, if Mike and Jim ever plan to head your way, I'll make a point of coordinating one of my visits home to Phoenix during the same time frame. Matter of fact, I don't think it would take much to talk Eric into making a visit back to his old stomping ground as well. (He could even drag Phil down with him from Montana. And, it's only about a 6 hour drive to PHX for Gene.) Heck, we could have our very first annual "FJ25 Owners Group Convention" right there in beautiful AZ when it cools down there. (Don't worry, we won't all be staying in your house. We'll just camp out in your parts yard. :D )"

Anyway, something like this might be fun doing someday if the gas prices and airfares ever go back down. :)

I've got his number at the cabin........every could just invite themselves over. ;)

Sounds like a great idea, I'd really like to get the trucks together though, which could be a little costly. :)

That's where Mike's car hauler comes in. We'll stack 'em. :D

I need to pick up a 40 trans from John, think of all the shipping expenses I could save! Just made the round trip to Eric's place, gas prices were easy to handle when fiiling up (from 3/4s full), and ya get another chance at the "$xx.00" if ya miss it the first time!

Ha, step away from the computer for a bit and I'm volunteered for something already. Sounds just like the fire department :) For other reasons, I've already calculated the cost of fuel alone to AZ. It'd be in the $900-1100 towing the trailer :crybaby: I might get better mileage just driving the 25 there. Iron butt award anyone?

I would be happy to host something at my cabin, you guys are all welcome. Spring, summer and fall the weather is great in Northern Arizona. I'm sure I would have at least three cruisers licensed and insured ready to go. We could find some group project we could do on one of my cruiser's :D Phil I don't think I would trust any shipper with that transmission (it's that nice) you should drive down to get it. Its to bad I didn't know how nic it was could have stopped off at your place on the way back from Washington when I got it. Gas was only $2.40 then. If gas prices ever go down you guys could all bring you own 25s. Steve's trying to work on it so he would just have to tow his from NM. :) Mike you might want to know the small fire department in Blue Ridge is looking for a new fire chief. That's the area my cabin's in. I can see it now "sorry your cabin burned down, fire was so hot all your cruisers and parts burned completelly up, nothing left" :frown:.

OK Steve what else could we work. Let's see my steering is OK so we could work on that. When I can't stop the steering wheel with come off in my hands. Gee I guess we could rotate the tires while we're at it. ;) I was hoping for something like replacing the rear cross member on the frame. My white one needs a new one bad and I know Jim could pratice on mine so when he takes one home he will already have experience. :)

No problem . . . with the expertise that I have with brakes, I'll just install a new master cylinder on your steering wheel (right after I connect the brake lines to your horn button).

Steve so I hear you a 4X4 off road instructor for the goverment. I'll tell you what I'll let you drive and I'll make the repairs. I think that would be the safest way for both of us. :D I haven't rolled anything in awhile so I'm probably do.

Just goes to show how lax Uncle Sam's standards are. ;)
