Is painting this thing a requirement or just suggestion?
Maybe I'll get around to installing your puddle lights on the driver's side. The passenger side got installed after HIH7 and was priority since my gf missed the old running boards lights.

Hahaha! You technically don't have to finish it. Since it's inside, it shouldn't rust, but there is a chance it could get some slight surface rust over time.

I just ordered a mount also......and a set of Puddle lights....and a PP Trail Team sticker. I didn't scroll my screen down and missed the Owl Ex sticker that I just now spotted, or I would of just got one of everything, lol. Your website is setup really well. Its simple to navigate and use. I also like that you have the videos to see the products in action and also the instructions available on the site too. Nice work!
Quick off-topic question about your Vais setup on your factory radio.....I was reading through your build thread and on Post #15, saw you posted a link to the Vais you bought off amazon and was wondering if that setup did both the Sat Radio along with the Bluetooth connectivity that shows the tracks and can be controlled with the steering wheel controls that you showed on the Media Mount video on your website, or if the setup on that amazon link only did Sat Radio and you had to purchase a separate module for the Bluetooth connectivity? If its 2 separate modules are you using both right now, or did you upgrade at some point and dump the Sat radio and just use your tablet with Bluetooth now? I'm looking at the Vais website and from what I can gather, it looks like the SL3Sat-L w/ Tuner Kit only does Sat radio and you need the SL3b-L kit to do Bluetooth. Also, do you have to hit the little "I agree" button on your screen everytime the truck starts, or do the kit/kits you have override that? Sorry for the confusing question.....basically just want to know what Vais setup you have to run the tablet via BT on the video on your website, lol. My factory Nav screen has a crack in it which makes it nearly impossible to hit any of the buttons including the "I agree" button, so being able to skip having to hit that would be nice (it still displays perfectly fine though). As for the vias, I have both the BT and Tha SAT one. You have to have both to get both functions. I love having them both because SAT radio is my easy go-to when I don't feel like picking anything from Google music. The the BT one when I want to play something specific. Having both makes it feel totally modern, especially with the tablet.
I don't have to hit the agree button. There's a bypass built into the vias. I think maybe it's he BT one, but can't remember as its been a couple years since I isntalled both.

Finally got mine installed today. I had originally planned to install the SL3B and the Owl mount at the same time but it didn’t end up working out. I’m now an expert at taking the dash apart!
Overall pretty easy and I’m only a
wrench. Be careful with the little plastic clips on the side. I pulled a bit too hard on the first one and it ended up breaking off on the final install.
The mount does appear to be pretty solid. Now I need to order the accessories! Thanks again!!

Awesome! Thanks for the information. I may have to get both of the Vias modules also. But first I really need to get my factory screen replaced so I can actually use the factory functions. But it would probably be easiest to do it all at the same time so I only have to take apart the dash once......just not easiest on the wallet, lol.

It started with the 80 series Toyota guys. It was a joke making fun of the LX guys saying their trucks were for women, hence: pinkpanties.
I love to play on it since 99.999% of the LX's on the road are soccer moms and people are always suprised to see a Lexus outfitted.

Lots of brackets going out tomorrow!
Just a heads up, there is a piece of foam tape in each package. It goes on the bottom of the tongue as shown in the photo. It isn't mentioned in the directions because when I was finishing the brackets, I'd put the foam on. So don't put it on until you've painted your bracket.

I used the ball listed in the first post but double balled mine with the male threaded ball instead of a bolt.

Do you have 2 different mounts on the two balls? I'd be love to see some photos of people's setups.
I plan to. I need to put it all together and see how it fits.
One for the tablet similar to your setup using a double socket swivel arm but with the universal holder for my 10" android tablet
