I plan to. I need to put it all together and see how it fits.

One for the tablet similar to your setup using a double socket swivel arm but with the universal holder for my 10" android tablet

and the lower ball for a cell phone holder or baofeng uv-5r using this mount

I saw a triple ball mount but it seems excessive.

That’s a great idea!

How about putting these 2 together?

I like this idea. Another option is to use one arm to the tablet mount, then a second ball on the back of the tablet which you attach another arm and add a cell phone mount. Hopefully that makes sense.

Installed mine a few weeks back, finally getting around to pictures:

I used this phone mount, although they also make tablet mounts as well:
Perfect Squeeze Phone Mount

Used two threaded balls to allow another arm below for my GPS, still working on getting this part dialed in and will post more pictures.

Overall impression is excellent, this thing is very solid and held up well to 500 miles of dirt/washboard/minor technical sections (hence the dust). The phone mount didn't move at all, although the GPS mount vibrated quite a bit which is likely an issue with the mount I have. Nice to able to change position of each device or remove depending on the current needs. As a bonus for me, it also allows easy swapping between the cruiser and the moto.

Installing right now, got everything apart, I'm having trouble removing the guts of the cassette player, any tips? Does removing the guts cause anything else to foul out in the entertainment system?

Have any pics? It should just be the 4 screws in the directions. Nothing negative comes from removing the tape guts other than not having a tape player anymore.

I guess my problem is that I don't have a small enough or correct screwdriver, afraid I'm going to strip the screw heads.

Got three out, last one aint coming out.

You may want to find a small screw driver! I used the smallest one I have, just a step up from eyeglass screw drivers. Make sure you don't ruin the screws as they are hard to find that small

Already ruined the last one. Damn. Anyone want an already painted OWL mount? Why does everything have to be so damn difficult. These screws are soft as hell. Happen to know the size?

Shoot! I don't unfortunately. I tried to see if I could find them at the hardware store and they didn't have anything that small.

It might not be too late. Maybe try using a small file to make a gouge you could then use a small flat head to unscrew.

Maybe try the screw driver while trying to turn the head with needle nose pliars.

Theres definitely a way to get it out!

I'm done with this, one damn screw is keeping me from finishing. I'm frustrated. Opening first beer. LOL

Alright, got this SOB out with a screw extractor, now I got to find another.

Did you get this worked out? Your best bet for finding a screw would likely be a small electronics store or maybe Grainger.

I did, couldn’t find a screw anywhere, I managed to cut a slot across the head of the old one with a Dremel tool then loctited it in. I used the RAM mount and fished a USB charger cord out the tape deck slot for my iPhone 8 Plus. I'm still trying to figure out the VAIS SL3b and all the features. Next I'm installing the VAIS unit in my wife's LS 430. Great product you have going here with the mount.

Next on my list is the puddle light setup.

Thanks

Awesome! Glad you got it worked out. Enjoy!

Did my 06 today. All in all not bad, minus a few head scratchers getting the deck out. Probably took 1.5 hours but nothing horrible.

Very slowly working my way through the install today. For those of you with the 2003+ what wizardry did you use to get the tape deck extracted? Not seeing how it wants to come out of the front.

You need to use a JIS screwdriver, not a regular small Phillips. Sorry don't remember what size it ended up being, though.

For the 2003+ Land Cruiser install, just remove every connector with an 8mm head (and two Phillips). While balancing the edge of the nav on the console location, the bottom frame section around the tape deck will fall forward allowing the deck to easily come out. One tricky connector is located under the nav that connects to the cassette frame. You’ll need an extension for this one. You’ll also need to remove antenna and, I’m assuming, gps cable from the back of unit. Great work on this @Ramathorn15 - feels really stout and can’t wait to get some weight on it.
