Hi Drew.

Do I need to post another picture of my engine bay to show what yours should look like? (You never know when you might be caught in the bush without matches/cooker and need to fry your steak on your engine you know!)

Please clean it immediately.

And do you have enough confidence in your "bubbling witch's broth" to rip in now and remove your head to check for gasket leaks - and to check for c-r-a-c-k-s (heaven-forbid)?

haha Tom, :flipoff2: In all fairness its not always like that, but I noticed this new problem while i was out... playing... and haven't had time to clean.

yeah, I think I believe in this diagnosis - its one thing to be skeptical when multiple solutions exist, its entirely another to ignore specific evidence. the tank is bubbling, the fluid is changing color, and lately there have been whisps of smoke from the radiator...

Well, I can get the head off in 1.5 hours now. Thats depressing.

Gasket looks ok, but then my leak was slow. I'm thinking the jackets around #4 were the problem, I probably didn't clean the block well enough when replacing the HG last time.

I CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY IT DIDN'T CHANGE COLOR ON THE RED. BUT THE DIFFERENCE
IS THE CHEMICAL
IN THE RED IS SUPPOSE TO BE MORE SENSITIVE TO CO2. THAT'S BECAUSE DIESEL
PUTS OUT ABOUT 15% PERCENT LESS CO2 THAN A GAS ENGINE.

I gather both fluids are CO2-sensitive, so the gas fluid should work fine for the diesel. Lord knows whats wrong with the diesel fluid I got...
