Started out pretty ruff looking but cranked right up and had lots of new parts.

Got to work quick breaking it down and seeing what was underneath the roll on bed liner

Lots of rust holes. Bent some new sheet metal and welded in patches. Pulled off the wooden bed and found a 79 with a missing front end and went to work putting the two trucks together.

We cut the bottom out of the tub and welded up a frame for the floor and sheeted it with 16 guage. Welded in patches and smoothed it over with some bondo. Due to the custom cage from the PO we had to do it in three pieces. Thats why I refer to the build as a re construction not a restoration.

Had to smooth out the dash. Then we addressed the fuel situation. When I got the truck it had a boat gas tank between the seats. No good for rock crawling so I went with a fuel cell from summit. We also built a bumper and adapted a tire carrier off a nissan patfinder.

The floor of the truck is custom steel plate also. Some of the things that were done that dont show in the pic's are
front and rear detroit lockers in the axles off the 79 / longfieilds, disk brakes up front and 4:88's
stailess steel brake lines
extended shocks on man a fre extended mounts along with 4+ heavy duty tie rods and u bolt flip kits.
Downey header, modified intake, and re located oil filter

We also went with a centerforce dual friction clut, 4 speed tranny mated to the original 3 speed case( thanks to marshall for the spaced I needed). Added BTB skid plate. 35 " BFG MT's thanks to the raffle at GSMTR '08 on rock crusher mod's. Trail gear wheel spacers and hella rock lights.

Power stearing out of a 4 runner helps turn the 35's on the rocks. Put a set of seats out a pathfinder in along with a set of corbeau 4 point harness'

Some other odds and ends: ccot center console, cb, mile marker 9000 lb winch, windshiled and hood of the 79 and lots of labor by D Benke and I.

I really like setup of the rig how it started. Almost a half cab, almost a trayback.
Actually thought you got a new rig till i made it to the bottom.
