It’s been a bit. I ended up rebuilding the motor. The head was super warped. All the exhaust valves were no good. Head wasn’t cracked though. Sending the block off soon for work.

91 3FE

I don’t think it it all happened the one time it over heated. I think it was already in poor shape, and this was the straw.

I’m going through the whole thing now. It’s gonna be a solid stock motor when it’s done. New torque converter new alternator new starter new everything to go with my new cooling system.

good times.

What are you doing for cooling upgrades? I have been down that rabbit hole for many years and now finally decided to go the elec. fan route.

I put in a newer better cooling trans cooler, along with an external trans filter. I’ll be running a toggle switch to it. For cooling I have another aux fan im going to mount to the front AC condenser. That will be on a temp switch. I did buy a green fan clutch as well. I have a new OE radiator, Aisin water pump, t stat that will be getting installed. I replaced all the coolant hoses. I also plan on running two good aux temp gauges for the water, and trans fluid.

I have a 91, so the HG isn’t that big of an issue. The LC was rode hard, and not maintained. It should be good to go for a long time now.

I got it from LC parts store. I can't remember which. I'm not certain its OE, but it looks identical. Brass and copper construction, perfect fitment like original. I don't recall the brand. Sorry it was like 10 months ago. This has been quite a journey. I could find it if you really would like to know. it was around $600 or so. I actually ended up with two. the first one they sent had minor shipping damage to the fin. I called to see about a replacement, they sent me a new one, and told me to keep the original.
