Just finished up an Ironman lift and now the drivers side axle seems to be disconnected. When I spin the wheel the upper boot just twists. What do I do?
 
You mean you can spin the front driver wheel with no resistance?

sounds like you popped out the Cv joint. Or broke it. Sorry, can't help you on the fix other than searching those terms.

Before I put the wheel on I tried spinning the disk and noticed the upper boot was twisting at the connection to the front diff. I don’t feel like I really forced anything but something is wrong.
 
Likely when you were working on the hub assembly trying to put in the new coilover, you separated the inner CV joint. You'll have to open up the other end of the cv joint and try to slide it back into the cup. It can pull out of the upper connection quite easily and if you overextend that axle (usually when the upper ball joint is disconnected) it can fall right out.

I haven't seen any. Maybe Curt may have one. You need to disassemble the hub. I haven't done this on the cruiser but usually there is a cap that gets removed and inside is a circlip holding the end of the axle in the hub. Remove that clip and the axle should pull out enough to insert the opposite side into the diff cup. You won't need to push hard to insert into the cup. If you are, its not aligned correctly.
 
It does sound like you hyperextended and separated the inner CV joint. I haven't done specifically the 200-series CV before so others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe you can just slip it back into the inner race, due to having to put the larger snap ring in place under the boot. May need to remove the CV to assemble it correctly, or maybe could getaway doing it on the car by dissembling the LCA ball joint bracket at the bottom of the spindle to get more freedom to work with the CV.

Once you have access, I think it's a matter of pulling the CV inner boot to get it put together correctly.

I haven't done this on a Land Cruiser yet but on a Tacoma and Honda it is super easy to remove and replace the CV especially if you are not replacing boots and have the entire CV axle assembled. I have never had to do anything more than remove the dust cap, castle nut and axle nut, swing everything out of the way, potentially unbolt a tie rod if necessary for space, and gently pry the CV out from the front differential. It usually comes right out with a pop and replacing it usually takes a firm push to "click" it back in place. You probably just need to hold it level and apply light pressure inward to get it to click in, maybe whilst spinning the CV slowly. If you didnt pull the entire thing all the way out should be a quick fix.

I have done the same thing on the Tacoma, had to remove everything and do it again as the joint popped out from drooping for too long. You just have to make sure everything is set and tight before slipping the CV shaft through the hub and torquing the axle nut down.
 
I ordered a couple of CV boot kits. Might as well do both sides while I have it apart. Thanks for the help.
