On my 99 Cruiser, my outside temp gauge is way off. This has been going on for about 6 months. Anybody run into this problem, and any easy fixes?
I'm a newbie to the 100 posts. I usually hang out in the 60's, since that's my truck. The 100 is the mall cruiser for now. Thanks

Mine did that...for about 6-months after I pulled the batteries out and let it sit for about 6-weeks. It now seems to read accurately and quickly. Unfortunately I do not have a quick fix or an understanding of why it happened in the first place.

Sending unit was about $30 at the stealership, probably less from Cruiser Dan.
Takes about 1 minute to replace. It's between the grill and the right end of the radiator, just behind the headlight. It slips on a little bracket and has a single plug.
Who knows if that end is the problem or not, but it might be a place to start. Even without the sending unit installed you can get a temperature reading occasionally, but it will be way low.
(mine had no sending unit for a while thanks to lack-of-attention-to-detail by a PO and a repair shop--thus, I know)
