Ken,
Pasquale (DesertDude) has one. Saw it in use at SnT...can't remember the specifics but PM/e-mail him.

I was thinking you could cut an old propane tank in half and use that for the Wok support. It would need vent holes top and bottom for good air flow.

You would have to get the fill valve off and purge it out with water or CO2 first, of course. If you go this way and skip the purge step lets us know so we can watch from a safe distance.

X2 here. He turned out some great food in DV!

IIRC, DesertDude's burner came from his shower set up.
Any good burner will do -- like the one Rusty shows above. I use one that came with my turkey fryer set up.

Check out camp chef burners -- they have lots and one that will definitely work for a wok.

I cooked some great (IMHO) chicken Fijatas night before last on my trusty Coleman white gas stove with a Wok.

A Coleman stove gets crazy hot which is perfect for the Wok. Yet you can simmer a stew for hours on it. Old school works.

BTW a lot of dishes from other cultures work great in a Wok. The design is classic, it provides a lot of cooking for a minimum of fuel.

This is what I came up wit..
The stand is aluminum and doesn't weigh anything but will support my weight.
Thanks for the options and ideas , The off the shelf stuff just isn't my style.
This set up should be truly portable , fits right in the rear drawer :wrench::cool:

Nice design and execution!

Ditto what hoser said Ken! Can't wait to taste your wok cooking next weekend ;).

update ;
Tested this set up at the beach last weekend and it worked great!
Packed and traveled easy set up fast and made some Thai noodles perfect.
The burner pulled double duty , doing pancakes in the morning:)

Im kinda suprised how much I ended up enjoying the burner and the wok.
