Bump for updates.

Is the consensus still iPad or Android based tablets, connected to home wifi to download maps/apps then offline for navigation in vehicle? Time for dedicated device for mapping.

I have 2 Samsung tablets that I got on the cheap from Costco - about $125 each I think. One stays on the boat, the other I use for everything else including in the Cruiser. But I don't try to hard mount it - it's too heavy and just bounces hilariously. Even my phone is unreadable on bumpy roads with the RAM mounts I use. They both have GPS and can hold lots of apps and photos and FSM's.
