Options based on VIN?

Hi All,

Is it possible to determine what options are installed in an LC or LX based on the VIN? I tried a few VON decoders but they don't seem to have details on optional equipment.

I haven't tried any myself, but I noticed some apps in the iPhone App Store that claim to provide that info. Maybe those apps are available for other phones too? Might be worth checking out.

A Lexus service writer can print you a history of the car, where purchased, what accessories, and any dealer service done to the truck...I would assume same can be done by a Toyota dealer for a LC.

Printout will also show what recommended work was declined by the owner.

You can check service history only via Toyota or Lexus owners support website...get there via toyota or Lexus.com

I do not think there is a VIN decoder for Toyota/Lexus that shows options. (Oh, how I wish there was.) There are vin decoders for BMW, Merc that do this, but I haven't found one for Toyota/Lex, and Ive looked pretty hard.

Lockers, baby. Nav is another one that would be good to know.

Where are you getting VIN #'s that you can't also see pictures of navigation and lockers? Seems like 99+% of '98-'99's had lockers, the same with '03+ for navigation.

I access my service history using the Toyota Owners app on my iPhone. But it will only show any modifications if they were entered manually - which is what I had to do after I got my bumper, winch, & lights installed.

Unfortunately that Toyota VIN Decoder posted above was useless. It didn't tell me anything I already know - it's a 2003 LC with a 4.7L. No mention of options specific to my vehicle - Rear Entertainment, Black Pearl Emblems, etc.
