I have LC100 JDM 1998 Diesel 1HD-FTE here still in Japan and I've been admiring the cool box option which did not come with this LC100 I got from auction.

Is there part number for it so I can order? I couldn't find the part layout for Diesel since they never released it in US.

Is the cool box thing even compatible for 1998 model?

If someone can help me, or at least cleanly knock my hopes down, I'd appreciate it.

I would consider finding a used one through some of the overseas sellers (see 100 series FB group); you can find the part numbers you need on www.partsouq.com but be prepared for sticker shock if new. I'm fairly confident that the wiring harness for yours includes the connectors for the cool box already so wiring would be relatively simple.

I'm not positive but I think it would be a bit of a pain to get it all done. I don't think it's electronic or anything, doesn't it have like proper AC lines and evaporators and what not in there? IDK, guess thats not much help

The coolbox did come as an option on JDM 98's but it would not be easy to retrofit. It ties into the vehicle's AC system and plumbing. I have one on my 200 and wish I didn't. I would prefer a large center console.... or a fridge that can stay on 24/7 during trips. The 80 series on OTOH had an optional ice maker.

Interesting. Maybe I should reconsider getting the console box cool box.
Any USB/cigar-light plug-in option you'd recommend? I just like to keep my can or two ice cold during my 1 hour drive, nothing big

New one seems to be about $1000 plus-minus $300. Not too bad but now I'm reconsidering it because I'm going to lose the cargo space.
Any USB option you'd recommend for a can or two?

Yeah but the part still needs to be tied into the AC system so I think it would be more involved than just buying the console, but idk

I like your 12v plugin cooler concept . Do some Googlin' , im sure there are plenty of options out there. Could plug it into the 12v in center console and set it up on the floor in backseat.
