Appreciate all the help. We passed on the 2013 and brought home a perfectly maintained 2015 yesterday. I love it!
Just be patient, I looked for over 6 months and was recently lucky to find a 2013 LX570 with 45,000 miles at a Carmax in Florida, paid the $2,000 shipping and now the proud owner, few minor things Carmax still fixing, 3 of the tire pressure indicators do not work, appt next week. I also bought the extended warranty. Tires were 7 years old including spare, still good tread but no way in the desert. Trying to fit off road tires was tough, I like Cooper Discover STT Pro's, have on my Tacoma and had on my LX470 but no size fit the LX (because of the 20" wheels), ended up with 285/55/R20 Nito Trail Grapplers M/T (they fit perfect, no rubbing at any time) nice 10 ply 3 ply sidewall (a must for the desert around Las Vegas), firmer ride than the soft pillow Michelins that were on it but they do sing at high speed. The roof top luggage moldings fly out when I use the car wash, reading about on your forums, going to just remove them as unnecessary. Also removed the 3rd row seats, not as easy as my LX470 but still easy (just watch a youtube video), not so easy finding a rear cargo mat to fit 2 row seats, want one that says Landcruiser, Toyota ordered wrong one. By the way this forum is great, will read often...Looking for opinions- we have been searching for a lx 570 in the northeast for a few months. We just happened upon a 2013 lx at a dealer close to us, just traded a few days ago, hasn’t gone through any dealer inspections/repairs yet. They listed it at 30k, just over 100k miles.
The bad- rear bumper and taillight cracked, many paint dings, AHC not working.
The dealer is going to have it all looked at and repaired if they don’t lose money, otherwise they will send to auction.
It drive beautifully and carfax shows well maintained. Frame in good condition, little rust. I think the Ahc failed and previous owner decided to trade it rather than diagnose. Could be a hose, could be the whole system, we just don’t know yet.
Thinking of putting a deposit down (fully refundable) and seeing how this pans out. Worst case, we move on. Best case, fully repaired Ahc system that will hopefully last many more miles. Obviously we would get our own PPI.
Thoughts? Thanks!
