I use the shell or chevron diesel in my 1/4 million mile cruzah. In my other cars I always use mobil-1. I have seen many scientific studies on the wear characteristics of Mobil-1 and it has been shown that you could safely never change the oil beyond topping off after regular filter changes.

I will never use a multi-grade dino juice in any of my engines. The polymers used to create the higher viscosity number are very prone to breakdown at high temps and create engine sludge.

Based on cruiserdrews rec...I just picked up 2 gallons of rotella 15 40 for 7.50 a piece at wally mart. Hope this will at least help the dribble coming from where the rear main is:eek:
Ive used high mileage in my ford f 150...Since Ive started using it, i havent been low in my levels.
To me...its worth it and Ill keep using it.

One last comment ...

A very competent engine rebuild shop will ask the customer what type of oil they are planning on using in the engine after the rebuild is completed.

The reason ? Depending on what oil the customer is planning to use will determine how tight to build the engine.

Work this in reverse to determine what oil you should use.
