For Sale Opinion on this FJ40

from what i have been told It has been imported from Venezuela where all of the restoration has been done. I have been looking for a mostly restored FJ with some customization for awhile. This one happens to be local that I have seen and looks to me as a pretty nice clean build although I am far from an expert and basically only know what I have read on this site and others. He wants 29K which seems very ambitious. I welcome all input and opinions.

unless you can go see it in person and put your fingers thru all the rot / rust holes that have been lipsticked over with paint .......id pass.

i didnt see any rot or rust on it but i didn't run a magnet over it.

What Overton said. And run a magnet over those floors, rockers, even the frame. Any rig that has been gussied up like a tart may very well be one ...

What could be a difference if it is a local produced Venezuelan Toyota, with some important mechanical changes.

it will be okay with the rust, because it's not a North American East Side Fj40 , anyway always take a magnet, on any FJ40.

Overton sums it up well. Its a south american import without all of the things most desirable in a cruiser. Some have been added but for the money he is asking hold out for a U.S/north American model. IMHO
