Opereration Desert Fun 10-16/17 2009

I will be heading out to this event and hosting a poker run site for Beach N Toys. If anyone is interested please come on out and enter the raffle or go on a run. It benifits San Diego Paralyzed Veterans. I have never been before but hear it is a good time. Only a couple of us from Beach N can make it but we do plan to do a couple of easy runs out to pumpkin patch and the mud holes along with a little geocaching.

I'll be out camping near the mud caves (Arroyo Tapiado) tomorrow and Sat., so I'll keep an eye out for you guys. I'll have the 40 out there, so stop by if you see us. Have fun.

Good Event but Hot

Well I managed to talk to few cruisers, thanks for coming out.

It was hotter than "HE" double hocky sticks out there, at least 102. Not much cooler at night and the sound of all the generators and AC running made it even harder to sleep. Went through 47 lbs of ice in 3 days in a medium sized ice chest. Overall it was a good event and hopefully they raised some $ for the PVA. The Jeep crowd did not like our poker run stop, but had fun throwing tennis balls at toy jeeps. One toy jeep suffered many broken parts, which goes to show that they break often even in toy form. We did get props during the raffle on saturday.

We ended up doing our own run since it had been years since I explored the area. Nothing too difficult but found a ton of geocaches.
