This video gives me that hairy feeling on the back of my neck :D every time I watch it. This was from the new year's day. Talk about proper weight distribution ;)

thats got to be one of the worst feelings in the world when you are sliding down sideways like that......However, do not under estimate a 80, even if it isn't locked up.....:cheers:
 
Yup, that feeling sucks! Gotta use the momentum on road, on the trail too. Gotta know when to hit the gas and when to hit the brakes also when to turn the wheel back and forth for traction up and where to turn it on the way down to avoid the sitch totally! Good example video for the Noobie's!
 
Good video,, I had an incident in Dec when I was slowly going down a muudy track at a decline left camber the car was sliding all over didnt feel good at all, at the bottom the track took a left turn at that point it felt like I was going to slide backwards down a steep hill and in to the river I had at least 8 people holding the left rear corner trying to get on track,, the tyres were completly caked up,, I had only had the cruiser 2 months and was feeling quite inadequit in this situation,,,
Whats the correct technique?

There's no cut'n'dry way to get out of these situations. Every situation is different. You truely have to have a feel of your truck's weight distribution and as mentioned above: momentum to the right direction at the right time is your only friend. When I was sliding that day, I basically had let go of the truck, quickly got my feet off all padels, statrted to tap and release, turned the wheel towards left camber or to the sliding side. Once I got the feeling that the truck was moving slightly faster towards the rear then the sideways, I had put it on reverse with the wheels turned and got it slightly straight (that's when the other guy in the rover was calling me badass :D). Seems like that's all I really needed to get it from sliding sideways. So you know, you really have to have a feel for it. Things happen really fast in these situations, wheather good or bad. Some times skinny padel is you answer :D. The more you practice the better you will be at all possible scenarios. Hope that answers your question ;)
