Somewhat irrelevant info on brakes on the 3rd gen runners. Some of you smarter people will give face palm, but posting this info here anyway. Please correct as needed.

Problem, 4runner brakes sorta suck and like to warp.
Recall HERE

Solutions:
"upgrade" to Tundra Rotors and Pads.
Two variants:
Stock 4runner calipers are 199mm.
Earlier Tundra calipers are 199mm & up to Sequoia 2002.

2002 Tundra calipers and rotors 231mm.

Key markings:
199mm : caliper S13WE
231mm : caliper 13WL

Haven't decided which route to take, but that what I know.

(and here come gnob to smack me  )

Alls im going to say is:
I personally think rotor warpage is typically caused by driving like a retard. (On a stock rig, typically autos)
If you are upgrading, buy good parts because cheap rotors warp or come warped.
Go to the largest parts you can use safely.

Ty practiced using his brakes the other night.

He met a law officer....

:flipoff2:

 :whoops:

I was able to determine the cause and the issue has been remedied. :hillbilly:

wonder if TRD makes a set for something that would crossover to the fzj80?

Haven't researched, but also have never read anywhere for such a swap.

With that said I'm really happy with my OEM reman calipers, Powerstop rotors and 100series pads (Napa ceramics)
