I'm just hanging in the booth to help with TLCA/ONSC promotions. I'll probably wander the grounds to take some pics of the mud pit and other activities going on at the stables. But, hitting the trails in the URE forest will be a challenge with all the traffic expected...

Jerry, do you know if we need any other items for the booths (tables, canopy, etc.)? I assume we should bring camp chairs or shovels to sit in or prop up with. ;) And of course, coolers...

I picked up a new 10x10 EZup (knockoff) yesterday, so I'll bring that.

Jerry - Any idea on what time we should meet at the stables for set-up?

For anyone interested, I'm trying to put together a caravan from the Triangle area, meeting at the Mobil Lake Mart on 64 as early as necessary to get to URE in time for set-up.

So far, it's just Clint and I. Anyone else? Jerry? Brian? Jared? Joe?

We finally picked up one of those EZ ups as well if needed. One for each booth maybe?

Still not sure what time we can or are going to get their either. We can be there realy early on Saturday if need be. Just might not be able to get off work early and with the time change don't want to have to set up in the dark.

Anyone have one of those small quiet honda generators? or is there going to be power there? Is there a reason we need power there? Maybe videos of some crazy totyota off road action or a slide show. Maybe music but we could just play that from a rig. Just wondering.

Heather, Lily and I will be there. I'd love to drive the 40 out, but if there's not a "need" for it, I'll just drive the family machine (either the 80 or the 'Style).

Jerry let me know if you need anything else (Pictures for the slideshow, etc.)

Someone remind me to provide a Legendary Landcruiser DVD I have, if someone would like to have it playing.

Can I borrow this sometime I've always wanted to watch that one.

Everyone - I greatly appreciate everyone jumping to help in this "project". I just sent Jon an email, letting him know what we have to offer, what we are bringing and if he has heard what kind of space will be allocated for the TLCA/ONSC to promote things.

As Clint stated, our primary goal is to support TLCA who has asked for our help in doing so at this event. Jon Sourbeer is the TLCA Administrative Vice-President and the "point man" for this event. We will also be there to promote the local chapter of TLCA, our great club and the offer went to Upstate Cruisers though I didn't see any response by them to see if they will be there also.

At this point, I'd say that having Jon and Will's 40's, Darin's 45, Greg's 55, Brett's 62, one of the many 80's, Clint's 100, Allen's 4Rnr and my FJC would be a great showing.

We also need at least 2 "Ez-ups", at least one laptop w/cellular internet card, TV/DVD/laptop to show videos/slideshows/etc (I've got this covered), a couple tables, plenty of chairs and other things to make everyone comfortable and having a good time (coolers?). Greg dropped off the banner, magnets and a few other things for ONSC.

The "little stuff" would include: everyone wearing/bringing event t-shirts, having some sort of handout/brochure/contact card (even if we find them in the trash 10' away), ONSC member application forms and/or being able to process club memberships just as we want to do for TLCA, a couple small grills for us to enjoy a group cookout during out time in the booth.

I'll post up any feedback I get from Jon once he replies to my recent email.

Thanks again to everyone, amazing group we have here...

We might be able to pull up a generic brochure for the 2010 Tide Ride, but it would just be a "save the date" type of brochure with a loose schedule, locations, and events/activities...

Greg, I can come by and get the 55 Saturday morning + any crap you want me to take to the event, if I can leave my humble ugly 80 at your house. I will also have a USB-based EVDO card (possibly more than one, for different carriers) for Jon or whoever has a PC.

Greg I also want to make sure I can take one of my dogs in your 55. He won't tear anything up, but may leave a little drool or stink.

Jerry, I like the list of items, and as far as promoting ONSC, it might make sense to duplicate what they will have for "our" booth. I think it would be cool to have a laptop running a slide show of ONSC event pictures: STR 2009, Harlan, URE, HAMOM's, etc. The other low tech option is to create posterboards from different trips, meetings, etc. If we can show folks what we do, we can follow that up with answering questions, explanations, etc. What we have to offer is pretty straight forward: Toyota 4x4 camaraderie, technical help, and trips...

I could volunteer to make some posterboards of pics, or I can accumulate my pictures and bring on a USB drive. I might recommend that others could bring their pics too...

Finally, I would also recommend that we could create a follow-up list for prospective new members. If we can get names, phone numbers, and email addresses, we can follow up with folks about joining, directing them to ONSC website, IH8MUD ONSC forum, etc.

That would be great. Any kind of pic w/dates should be sufficient. See my comments to Clint below...

Nothing wrong with a little drool or stink, right Greg...

All excellent ideas and what I had planned also. I'm working on a slideshow now and thought the same for some posters.

As to Brian's idea for a promo for STR '10, as simple as a bunch of the pictures around the date would be nice to show people, this year's t-shirt hanging off to the side, money. I'm tempted to take some of the "quality" pics down to Walmart to get some big prints to lay around the table, under some plastic so people can see what we have been up to, at URE and other places while they fill out any paperwork we hand them.

Great ideas, we are on the same page with the goal of this event...

I know I've got one or two fold up 4' tables I can bring if need be. I plan on leaving Friday night sometime so someone would need to bring them back for me if they'll be needed on Saturday.

I can bring Barry's STR shirt that I keep forgetting to give him!

I've got a XXL I was supposed to send to someone as well and will bring it too...

I'm sure we can work that out. We can dump that duty onto Jon since he is closest I believe.

I just went through the process on Walmart's photo site to see if I could get some posters printed before the weekend...No go, takes 7-10 business days. I'll look at the other local resources.

Its too bad, using their on-line tools, I was able to make some nice "collage" posters with a title of the event and handful of pictures for under $17 for a 20" X 30" poster.

I'll keep looking to see what I can come up with for some other visuals...

I have a PA that you guys might be interested in, whether for this event or any other. It's actually a kareoke machine, but it actually works better as just an all-in-one PA system. I used it for the Georgia Cruisers way back when. It has an amp/built in speaker, two mics, two tape decks, etc. If you guys need it for this event, I can put out on the side porch for someone tonight and you could pick it up anytime. I was just going to donate it to Goodwill....so doesn't bother me to donate to the club. I need to know tonight if you need it for this event though....

Joe, not a problem....so who wants to drive the pickup? :flipoff2::flipoff2:
