Definitely off that weekend and the :princess: is on call at the hospital, so I can prolly be there Sat and Sun with the 80. I gotta get the 63qt fridge wired up so I can keep any beverages cold:grinpimp:

No one has set up a meeting time yet?
Jerry do we know yet how big of an area in the event we are getting?

Anyway I want to see lots of pic of this and in return i'll provide a lot from Sema, SNT and SOR's land cruiser museum.

I thought the whole park was dedicated to THIS event. Didn't know Zuwharrie was scheduled for the same weekend...

Chaos!

:grinpimp:

Being a National Forest, I don't think anyone can "reserve" the trail system. It's going to be a hectic weekend at URE for sure, not a good time for actually wheeling. Speaking of that, when is the ONSC going back? I might want to tag along if possible.

First weekend in December.
And no, the stables is where Rockvember is happening you just get a trail pass when you go to the event so the trails will be very busy also.

I'll be touching bases with Jon Sourbeer (TLCA Adminstrative VP) who is the contact with the event promoter. So, at this point, I still don't know how much space we will have to park vehicles. I'll be posting a checklist soon to verify who is bringing what.

I'll be hanging at at the booth and hope to wander around the events at the stables, camera in hand. So, I'll get some pics there for sure...

How true, it will be the proverbial zoo on the trails for sure...

Actually, don't get a trail pass with the $20 "donation fee", must pic that up separately if one wants to hit the trails. The donation fee allows access to what is at the stables and camping/parking...

Jerry are you sure I could have sworn that they were giving temp trail passes to those that gave the donation fee

According to the website:

"All day Saturday...The off-road park as well as the off-road trails (*with a pass) will be open to all..."

This indicates to me that one must acquire a pass and it doesn't list it as part of what is received for the donation fee.

There is mention of a "temporary pass" but that is related to the NCDOT allowing non-registered vehicles access to the road on their way to the URE trailhead...

As soon as we can set up a meeting place / time can you all post it up here. Cleaned up the 45 from being in the barn yesterday. Figure i will load it friday night and put both truck/trailer in garage so i will just pull out and go saturday morning. I know i am at about the 2 hour mark from here.

Will do. My guess is that I won't know exactly where to "stage" the vehicles until I get there in the morning. It all depends on how organized the promoter is and if he has a map of the "pit/showcase"...

Greg, Let me know if you want me to bring those springs up and give them to someone who can then get them to you.

Greg asked me to bring them back, if he forgets to pick them up after too long in my garage, they may find their way on an FJ40 sitting in the other half of the garage...:grinpimp:

I've heard through the "grapevine" that Barry is very busy and not available.

I hope you can make it. As we sit now, I think we will have version of each vintage but for a 70 series. You have a rare one and I hope it will be fine for people to fawn all over your rig. We may have to issue drool rags and bibs just in case...

Damn that grapevine...I'm going to stop giving it beer, it talks too much.
:deadhorse:
That's really too bad I'll be out of town, because I would love to take the 45 out for this. I'll be watching the calendar for any other events that I can bring it to when I'm back.
I finally found some work, but it'll be keeping me traveling quite a bit.

Weather is looking favorable so I am shooting to bring the 40 and 80. If there isn't room for both, let me know and we can choose which one is best to bring.

I'm planning on bringing my 40 as well...

I'm a little confused. Is everyone planning on wheeling or just hanging out? I was just hoping to show up and hang around for a while on Friday but the 40 definitely isn't ready for trail duty yet.

The main plan is to man an ONSC booth and help as needed with the TLCA booth. Other than that hang out at the event.
