As we approach the end of the year, we need to be aware of a few things, we have a had a great first year and hope to see the enthusiasm continue into the coming years. In doing so we need to extend our efforts to get the club known and work towards hosting one of our own events as a TLCA sanctioned club, something that is in the works. We also need to consider our club positions and fulfill a few we didn't have volunteers for the first year. As I see it we need the following positions to fulfill not only the obligations of the club but also those required under the guidelines set forth for a TLCA sanctioned club.

Currently we have the following:
-President-Greg Ashcroft
-TLCA Delegate-Jerry Davis

Positions we will be looking to add and fulfill
-Vice President
-Secretary
-Treasurer
-Event Coordinator
-Alternate TLCA Delegate
-ONSC Club Contact for ONSC and Toyota Trails Magazine
-Safety Director for Club events and Rides

I am looking for nominations for all positions in the coming months so as we approach the new year we can have things in place come January. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone for such a position please let me know and in our November meeting we will vote on the nominations provided to fulfill above positions, if there is something you would like to volunteer your efforts for please let me know. Things have progressed well, as I hope others feel the same way.I look forward to future events and trail rides and the upcoming year.

It is really important we make this happen, we have got alot of enthusiasm to continue to improve ONSC and have some positive things coming through the pipeline as far as support from local 4WD shops and various organizations. Lets make sure we continue to improve so that these organizations see reasons to continue their support.

Hope to see everyone out this December, I will have the location pinned down in the next few days we are trying to make this central for as many as possible and too include our members from the western part of the state.

LOCATION: Clint's (strongtoy) House in Holly Springs at 3:00pm

LOL! Wheels like a girl...yes:princess: Types like a girl no!

Greg, one suggestion - would it make sense to have the annual meeting after the holidays? Being so close to Christmas may shut folks out.

I'll volunteer for a position, any one is fine except for Events Coordinator.

Guys, I will not be able to make this date...family Christmas weekend :)

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Brad

Joe, I tend to agree with you, however I want to discuss the positions and also plans for 2009, and have people in place for the new year, so our communication, schedule, and future plans can be firmed up. I would like to make the January meeting the meeting where we introduce everyone and let everyone know our plans for the year.

I agree with both of you on this and I'm sure there is a good way to resolve it. I agree with Greg in that it is important to get all the "ducks in a row" before the end of the year, ready to announce at the January meeting.

And, I also agree with Joe that trying to put this into schedules this time of year is going to be tough to manage.

Without trying to sound like a "techy-geek", maybe finding somewhere to meet with free wi-fi, being able to have some sort of video-chat-tele-conference for those that can't make the trip due to other family/holiday commitments. We have enough true "techy-geeks" to get this done.

I know that I'll be stuck in Wake Forest until after 1:30 that day but will be there assuming I can drive to the meeting place in time for the meeting. I'm not offering this as an easy out, just a way to get as many participants as possible for this relatively important meeting for the club.

Just a thought off the top of my head...

Since I administer voice networks, I can set up a conference bridge that everyone can dial into at no cost, from cell, home, or PC-based phones (so long as the PC softphone allows dialout to landline numbers).

Tell me what time we need this on the 14th and it'll be done.

i should be able to make the meeting just let me know when/where or in this case what # to call.

Good call on the concall! I'm in eitherway, thanx fer setting it up Greg!

I can set up a WebEx session if need be as well. Cisco has a couple of perks anyway.

I'll be heading home on Sunday from Wilmington, so let me know the time, and I'll be there....

Just let me know where to be and what time and I'm there!

I'm planning on being there in person but have some flexible plans for lunch/dinner in the RTP with a support group.

Greg - any estimate on what time of day we are shooting for? I'll try to plan my other commitment around the club meeting.

-Jon
