Just left the local dealer and was informed that only 75K FJs were going to be made over the life of the model. Is this true? Anyone else heard this? The sales person had recently been to a seminar by Toyota for the '07s, and was informed of this news.

That'd mean that the the truck will only be on the market for 1 1/2 years. Wich makes no sense when they were selling like hotcakes, you don't see them much b/c they were only 40k made for north america and that includes canada or that's last I heard

Only 5000 of the 07 model year were designated for Canada, and another 5000 going overseas somewhere, the rest of the 07's stayed in the U.S. and a whopping "0" of the TRD SE came to Canada.

To my understanding this is all true, as for only building 75k FJ CRUISERS the salesman you were speaking with is up his ass.

If Toyota sees continuing strong sales for the model, why would they pull it off the market? It's extremely expensive to set up a production line, and as long as the vehicle sells well, Toyota profits from it, production capacity is not needed for other more profitable models, and there is no sales cannibalization of other models or brand erosion, they'll keep building them.

Yeah, they are only going to make and sell 75,000 of the '07s. Then it will be time to start producing the '08s. Who knows how many of those will be made and sold.
