If this has been covered i apologize. I saw one on project wrong way and thought I’d give it a try. 30 minute job. Very satisfied so far. Just a little trimming and relocate the bolt holes.
Made for a 70 series but works for me. Definitely buying another for passenger side.

Once install will it clear the padded dash. I know the eyebolts for safety straps need to be removed for hard doors on a FST. Here in my 68 with 79 doors on it.

I like the arm rest. I have a set of late model door with bent window channel I thinking of making into half door.. probably cut them straight versus angling down because I like the higher arm rest. These would make that even easier to do.

Ah….’Molded Hole’ cup holders….cool beans! Two types of cup holder, Molded Hole and Transformer.

The Transformer iterations are usually some sort of folded tray that swings out and a basket drops. Can’t fit anything bigger than a medium soft-drink in them and after a year or so they get so gummed up they stick in the slot when retracted…..and prying them out generally destroys them….or the dash!

The Molded Hole cup holders were invented by Chrysler, with the advent of the K-Car derived Mini Van….another Lee Iacocca original ideal. Those rigs had no less than 13 molded holes and held cups for the entire family. And almost all were so filled with sticky goo, they were rolling bacterial Petri dishes. Generally, your toll road spare change ended up in them but were permanently glued to the bottoms, impossible to remove…..holding up traffic.

Hopefully your Molded Holes are removable so they can make their way to the dishwasher now and again. I would hate to see a new life form birthed in the cockpit of an FJ40. Then again, if one does appear, post a picture, might be Mr. Iacocca’s clone🤣🤣🤣

Be Good, Be Safe

Top has no storage under.
Yes the cups twist out. The entire unit will move front and rear within the limits of the window channel

The armrest slides into the window channel between the door and chrome portion of felt. It has three magnets that hold it to the door. Very sturdy and easily removed or adjusted front to back.
After thinking about it I don’t think i saw this on wrongway channel but the 40 series guy from Australia.
