Interesting move…

Thoughts?

Good idea, dumb name.

Great name IMO. Throw back to the Stout of old, which I believe was a predecessor or smaller brother to the Hilux? Could be mistaken though. Just going off the picture, haven't watched the video yet.

I have been trying to order a Maverick (at MSRP) for some time. Hopefully I'll be able to order a 2024 MY this year. I would rather have a Toyota though if equivalent.

Didn't watch the video but what is this gonna be built on a Corolla?

People going to be treating them like Hiluxes until they break apart?

I think a Maverick competitor makes good sense. The Maverick has been a smart move by Ford, and honestly makes more sense for most compact truck owners than a Tacoma from a practical side. I doubt there is much crossover between 200 series owners and the potential Stout buyer, but I think it's a good market with lots of demand. Hopefully based on the Rav4 platform.
If this comes out, I'll probably buy one for my work truck (light loads, lots of highway, prefer a truck). If there were Mavericks on Ford lots selling for MSRP, I would have probably already bought one, but I'm not willing to pay over MSRP and wait months for a FORD.

Not my cup of tea but this is on the right track so to speak for the US cruiser. Seems like the new CEO is actually interested in competing…
