I didn't want to junk of the for sale thread w/ a introduction (since lt1fire asked), so I figured I would start a new thread.
Anyways, my name is Jason, and I live in Oakboro (~30 min east of charlotte. I have always had jeeps and such (several yjs and a tj), but my dad has always been a fj man, just recently selling his '71 fj40 that he has owned since the late 70's. I've always loved 40s, and when my dad sold his, I realized how much I missed his... so, I started looking. I picked up my '76 from Terry Moorefield, but the rig belonged to David/landcruiser731 on NC4x4 until he traded for Terry's buggy several months ago.
Since I've had it, I've really just fixed minor problems that have surfaced from from taking a trail rig out of the woods and putting it on the street. I have also started on the body work; cutting out the rot at the bottom of the ambulance doors.
As for plans for the rig... Even though I picked it up as a new project, I think I'm just going to beat on it for now
,
Also, since getting the 40, and turning a few wrenches, my dad has since caught the sickness again... Now we've just got to find another one
.
Here a couple recent pics of the 40... I know the ones RK posted on here a while back were pretty old...
Here it is w/ my DD TJ w/ a 2'' suspension lift and 31's
might as well throw in a pic of my last yj, built 4.0, SOA, 35'' mtr's, locked, chromo shafts front and rear. It was a great DD plus weekend playtoy.
