Posting this up as early as I can to get as many people as possible there.
It's going to be at the White Water Center like last time but we are going to try and make a day out of it.
Here is the web site
US National Whitewater Center
Lots of activities so bring the FAMILY.
Activities are:
White water rafting: 3 different levels
White water kayaking
Flat water kayaking: self or guided tours on the Catawba river
Rock Wall: different levels
Mountain Biking: all levels
Hiking
Echo Caching
Ziplining
Climb and Zip

Now as for food to keep the cost down since I live two miles from it we could BBQ there and then go back to the center or eat at the grill on site.

August 9th.... is a Sunday

I did talk to them about group rates when I was there but they said it needs to be 30 or more.
It really is a great place (i'm out there at least once a week)

I'm in, family probably also...

Andrea will start to bug Heather about comming on facebook ;)

I should be able to make this one, so count me in. I'll probably arrive after 12:30.

Jorge are you going to bring your :princess: to this one?? We'd love to meet her

Times i'm going to say are all day really. We will plan on lunch around 1pm or so. I'm going to be out there at 9am since there is so much to do there.
I think prices are $45 for an adventure pass (means do everything as much as you want all day) and $25 for an all day on one activity pass. So like I said bring the family and make an outing out of it.

For those that are considering this event and would like to car pool from other regions let us know and we will make sure everyone can make it. Also if you haven't been to the location before there is definitely enough to keep you busy all day. Really nice area with plenty for all ages, even beer.

Yep, she will be there. We hope to do a little bit of rafting and I'd like to try the zip lines.

I also think we should get an eco-caching challenge set up. We could divide up into groups of 6 max and see who comes up with the most within a set time limit. They provide you with a GPS and everything and the price is included in the AllSport pass. Just a thought.

Yeah I hope they've found some of them.

We did it a few weeks back. Found number one
found the box for number two but the stamp was gone. Couldn't find number three at all. Number four was telling us it was 10 feet into the catawba river (it had rained hard all week) and the battery died while looking for #5.

They said they'll be fixing the course.

I forgot I won't be able to make this meeting, I'm in a wedding...

It's early enough that we could change it to saturday the 8th if you can make that day. If that is alright with Jorge since you two are the only ones that have posted up that they are going.

Well it's in Jacksonville, NC.

Bachelor party is Friday night, wedding Saturday, recovery Sunday and a drive from the beach to Charlotte back to Raleigh is a haul!

Laura and I are planning to come and bring our girls (ages 2 and 5). We can't get there until around noon (commitments at church) but will definitely be coming.

HERE is a link to the US National Whitewater website. Check out the Play All Day/ Allsport Pass which includes: rafting, climing, flatwater kayaking zip line, moutaing biking and more all for just $49 ($29 for 11 and under).

That weekend is my son's first birthday and my birthday so I am unfortuately out for this meeting. Hope everyone enjoys the facilities.

I'm going to try to make a day long trip for this. Last time we were there it seemed like a great place to spend the day. The wife was super stoked when I showed her the pics and wants to do some rafting.

I'll check with her schedule to see if it's a definite or not.

If we do go, I'd be down to carpool with someone coming from RTP.

So far we have
Me + 2
OB-1 +1
FJTC +3

Maybe
S4 +1

Greg you were planning on making it also right??

Sorry I'll miss this one too - I'll be in NE Ohio that weekend for my father's 70th birthday and visiting family.

Anyone else??

Doh this is Al posting from Brian's account

Will have an answer for me and Emma tonight.
