today i did the dash grilles. added the dash mat the other day.
did the head retorque and valve adjust.
cut down the console for a "micro" console.
found a couple more loose fasteners.

Nice work. Aren't you going to miss it?
i kind of have mixed feelings.
on one hand i am pretty happy with the way it came out. i had a vision and was able to mostly execute my plan.
it's a bit of a shame wife won't really get to use it, since that was the original plan.

otoh.
this rig has fought me since the minute i picked it up.
after the 4L thing went south and our life plan changed, it became a job and we know how that goes.
the build was overall somewhat difficult because of the parts chase. just seemed like a lot of stumblefücking.

regardless of that, i still think 1st gen is the best gen.
they make a spectacular platform. none of the bs "features" you don't actually need.
are over built in stock form.
it would be pretty difficult for me to want to dd a 22re anymore.
im spoiled by the 5V.
i can't even begin to imagine how slow our cross country trip would have been in this rig vs mine. 🤣

Excellent work. I remember when there was always someone parting out Toyota stuff in the local classified ads- not so common anymore.. Chasing new stuff for old stuff is frustrating as well. It's been fun seeing your progress
