So how do you determine if it needs a Sleeve on there vs. a stock seal?
i guess if it leaks again. 🤣
it felt like there was a little burr. not 100% i didn't do it. either way i knocked it down and cleaned it up. there was a little bit of seal groove, which is kind of annoying. the machinist is a clown, imo at least.
just crossing my fingers i don't have to pull it again.

hood.

not a bunch of exciting stuff today.
getting the nit picky stuff dealt with.
few more nuts and bolts. added mud flaps. rear bumper. fixed under car tire carrier. added window scrapers. installed door locks. painted the bed rail repair, twice. the first time failed. i think because the paint was 20 years old🤣
did i mention, no off the shelf spray bombs match this damn colour.
part numbers for the outer scrapers. none of the inners are available new

I was surprised that I couldn't get windshield trim pieces for my 1989 Toyota truck. It's frustrating how many parts you can't get- it's almost like they want us to just buy new stuff...

Looking good man!

ill take what I can get. we're very lucky to be able to get any oe parts at all. lots of other manufacturers just don't.
probably some of the parts are actually available at the international level. which for some reason is impossible for us to access.
thankfully there are several small businesses making cool oe unavailable parts for these.
lots of the impossible interior plastics are being 3d printed etc

today, wife and i dragged the shell into the garage.
got it sorta cleanish. needs some more love.
got sidetracked waiting for it to dry.
fit the shift boots and bezel. i think i may trim the bezel a tiny bit.
i also modded the other wheel caps to fit the locking hubs.
