Quick question, after looking at these two lifts on MAF's site they appear to be very similar (both use the same number of leaves/etc). The reason i ask is that ive read in several places now that the OME springs push the rear axle forward...is this true? Do the Man-e-fre rear springs do the same thing? Is the Man-e-fre lift any good? does it ride well?

The OME lifts do push the rear axle forward. That is a true statement. Everyone I have talked to seems to like the OME but others think of them more as a bling factor. Just because something is more expensive, doesnt mean it will be better 
You could also buy the Safari Kit and add OME Shocks later.... maybe no one would know the difference?
