I have the original OME shocks, 865 springs and TBs from the Slee medium kit I bought a few years ago. The truck still has a lot of body lean (the new shock feeling has worn off) and I was wondering how everyone feels about the new(ish) OME Sport shocks, or would Bilstein be even better.

RADFLO - They may be spendy compared to OME but I paid more for the suspension on my mountain bike!

I've just installed the new OME sports. I've had them for a week. The car corners amazing compared to stock. Though like everyone has mentioned before, the ride is bumpy compared to stock, but i like it. I don't have any bumpers or extra weight at this point.

If you are looking in the OME price range, yes the Bilstein's will be better. You can get all 4 for under $300

Where? The Bilsteins look to be about $450 for a set of 4.

I ordered 2 off autozone about 2 months ago for that price.
they sent me a $15.00 gift card.
Might be worthe splitting your order.
The price went up but I think auto zone either did not adjust their pricing yet or they enought in stock they havent had to yet.

If you were happy with the OME nitro chargers I would stay with them. I really liked them when I first lifted my truck.I have not been happy with the sport versions. See my review below. (if I didn't copy the link correctly just search for "firm ome sport shocks installed" in the 100 section.

Based on my experinece the bilsteins and sport OMEs will both control side to side sway much better then the original nitrochargers. But there is a trade off. They will both be a firmer riding shock and you will notice the change in ride over road irregularities. Nothing jarring, just a firmer ride.

Bilsteins are a stock length shock, so as was said in a earlier post, you will lose articulation comparted to the OMEs. But the bilsteins are a much more sophisticated shock (IMO) and handle all on road and offroad situations very well. What I mean is, they are good for slow and highspeed offroad conditions and easily handle both. A number of forum members are running them with lifted trucks.

The sport comforts are longer shocks made for a lifted vehicle. I like them around town and for the slow stuff offroad. They are not up to the weight of my vehicle and don't handle 30 to 40 mph hits while traveling offroad well. Hope the new Timbren bumpstops will help with this.

I would go back to the original nitrochargers, but I'm told they are even softer then the comfort sports.
