I am getting my OME 3" lift which will be the 886 coils up front, and the 895s back aft.
The 886s are the ticket I hear for running a steel bumper and winch up front.

At the same time I get the lift on, an ARB bumper and my old Warn XD 9000 winch from the 4Runner will go on.

It may take a few days to get an appointment from Les Schwab Tires to get an alignment.
I commute 16 miles each way to work.
Am I going to be wandering all over the place, or will it be safe to drive until I can get it aligned?

TIA,

driving-wise it should be fine...the key is in your steering wheel alignment and in your toe-in...

figger it'll take about 5,000 miles for your tires to get major bad-wear issues...fer a few hundred miles, don't sweat it... ;)

Thanks guy's.
I already have the alignment specs that were posted here printed out in a Word document to take to them.

I hear Les Schwab is pretty good at figuring out alignments for lifted rigs.
They always did a good job on my '91 4Runner with the SAW T bars cranked up, and the Downey coils in the rear.

Ome...

I too am having my new OME springs & shocks installed soon....My local dealer is happy to do it....Do I need to give special specs on alignment??? What else do they need to know?

Quote from my document I am taking to the shop for the alignment
FJ Cruiser 4X4

FRONTSpecificationNeg. TolerancePos. ToleranceLeft Camber0.15°0.50°0.50°Right Camber0.15°0.50°0.50°Cross CamberLeft Caster2.82°0.50°0.50°Right Caster2.82°0.50°0.50°Cross CasterTotal Toe0.08°0.17°0.17°Left SAI12.35°0.50°0.50°Right SAI12.35°0.50°0.50°

When you get the alignment done the caster will more than likely not go back to within specs. What you want to do is get camber as close to center as possible and have the right front caster be .40-.50* greater than the left side this will insure that the vehicle tracks straight and will have no tire wear issues as long as tires are rotated properly.

I am adding the driver side spacer, recommended by Jacque at Toyota of
Dallas, Does this have anything to do with alignment?? Or change anything with the alignment? I assume no.....

I took mine to the shop as soon as I could. Some of the values were pretty off but the truck drove okay. My guess is that it probably would have been fine for a bit but I figured why wait?

My regular alignment shop refused to do it as they specialize in race cars and not lifted trucks. Called Mudrak for a recommendation - did not get a return phone call. I used http://www.gsp9700.com/ to find a 9700 shop that would do the alignment close to me.
