Hey guys,

Springs are pooched.

Out of say... idle curiosity, If I have JUST the OME springs [no bushings, no shackles, just the springs] will they fit, and what else would need to be swapped out?

I understand that this isn't the optimal set-up, but I can get my hands on OME springs for cheaper than OEM springs. Trying to sort out if this is a good idea. Has anybody done this? If so, any thoughts on ride quality? any lift? Other option is add-a-leaf, but I am a little leery of em....

Cheers,
Crash

why even consider OEM when you can get OME??.... at least replace the bushings.......

I have OME springs, OME nitrocharger shocks, non-OME greasable hardware, extended swaybar links.....

I would definately upgrade to greasable hardware (you will likely have to cut off much of the old anyway) and get the OME yellow bushings (particularly if they are OME Dakar springs with the inserts at the eyes, these need more "shoulder" in the bushing as I am finding out.....) Shock length may be an issue, and you will need new U-bolts.

Not wise to NOT replace the bushings and u-bolts..not to mention 4 of the bushings have to be burned out to remove the pins.
