Cleaning this up is my goal this week.
Got the head off the used motor to clean up a bit and figure out valve cover baffles as well as checking bolt holes and gasket surface prepping on the cover and upper oil pan.

I cleaned them both just case I find a stripped hole.

Oil pump screws are kicking my ass. Why a Phillips wth? They’re already rounded out a little bit too, it’s the best way to start.

I ordered a set of lower bj’s for my 3rd gen runner and found a door handle for ole krusty to get rid of the one chrome one it has on it.

They're JIS plus screws, not philips. Cruiseryard was great for the one thing I purchased from them (brake booster). Fast shipping, great price. They're members here too.

Pretty cool! The handle probably won’t match the respray emerald grn that’s on it but it’s not chrome! Lol nicest paint on it will be this handle!

I got the oil pump apart! I borrowed the driver, I need to buy a jis bit set.

8 months later. Got a lot of that cleaned but I’m wondering how much scaring on the oil pump gear and surface on the cover is ok? Should I get both new ? It’s not horrible but I feel like it’s not ideal.
