Bought this trailer about 9 years ago and was just wondering if anyone had ever seen anything like this. My dad said he thought it hauled block ice because it has a 12 leaf spring pack under it and the walls were insulated at one point and time. There is a Texas trailer license plate from 1983 on it . The pics are kinda lame but you can get the idea .

The wheels tend to sway me towards a Spen trailer.....probably from the 40's, but maybe ealy 50's.

Needs lots of work, but if the frame is still good, strip off the box and build from there?

The condition of the trailer is actually pretty good. The box has surface rust and one hole the size of your fist in the floor. The frame is solid but the first to go will be the axle then the tongue needs about 30" added to it.

Pics make it looks like it might have been in a movie -- as the portable kitchen/morgue for a zombie picnic!:p:D

Neat project, especially if the box is as restorable as it sounds. A hard top imposes its own limitations, but also offers a lot of pluses -- security, mounting points inside for gear, outside spots to hang more gear and tie a tarp to, etc. The side door is a plus.

Springs sound like overkill. Might consider removing some leaves or -- given how cheap a new axle is -- just swapping out the whole enchilada with new springs, depending on you ultimate goals. Going with a new axle is also the cleanest way to add brakes, if that's a factor.

Ohh yeah I'm definitely going to be changing the axle out. And I finally got all the zombies out of it! Lol .

Probably was an OLD U haul by the looks of the hitch assembly, Ill get the secret number locations for you today and let you know. If it was a U haul it will have buried nu,bers only uhaul guys know about.

Yea the hitch is REALLY SHORT . Thanks for checking. The walls are wooden on the inside
